MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING 8 MAY 2024

Proposed by Terry, seconded by Dave and signed by the chairman.

MATTERS ARISING

Welcome to Colin who has joined the committee.

CORRESPONDENCE

Bank statement passed to the treasurer.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Will be attached to the minutes.

Balance today £13,156.14

Committee decided that the hall improvements of new tables, table cloths, bench, flowers and barrel should not be deducted from the centenary celebration. We intended to do this anyway. It looks like a small profit from the celebration and a small income from the sale of the old tables.

There is still £24.00 for the banner which Colin sourced and Sue Papa is owed £17.91 for the small flower pots. Sara will pay Sue from petty cash.

FUTURE FUNCTIONS

Cider and Pastie Walk - Saturday 17 August 2024

Film Nights - 28 June 2024 and 26 July 2024

Colin will put these dates on Westleigh parish website and we can put a notice for the pastie walk on the board outside the village hall.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

New bench - has been secured with a motor cycle chain. We will look into marking the bench will Westleigh Village Hall to deter thieves.

Proposed Planning Development - has not been submitted yet by developers.

Electric Heaters - Dave and Terry have re-fitted the radiator with the correct fixings and the brackets the right way up.

Dishwasher - is 12 years old and has failed. The fuse and plug have been checked and are working. Proposed by Terry and seconded by Colin that we purchase a new integrated dishwasher. The cupboards might need some adjustment as they have moved.

Storeroom - we still need to have a tidy up and throw away any rubbish. The posters can be removed from the frames, rolled and put in a tube. We can reuse the frames.

Three old tables and a computer table have already been taken to the recycling centre.

Time table for hall and village history.  It would be nice to have this on a board for people to see.  Colin will use Information from Terry and Sara’s display, plus on-line village history.

Watering Can - Sara will buy one for the hall.
